Welcome to the third day of Spring! I love this time of year. It seems I move forward, spring into action and have more energy! I love the longer days, flowers blossoming, warmer weather, being able to get o/side and walk, jog, bike, have a picnic and all the holidays–Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and Just Me Days…lol. Oh and I even get motivated to do a little spring cleaning. What about you? Spring also brings new things to APOOO. Listed below are some of the things we have lined up for next month. In honor of National Poetry Month, APOOO will salute poets of yesterday and today. Beginning April 1st, please visit our site (www.apooo.org) as we will showcase poets via the written word, interviews, blogs, podcasts and the spoken word. APOOO Salutes African American Poets

Niambi Brown Davis

We will be promoting and touring with Niambi Brown Davis, one of our APOOO family members and debut author of From Dusk to Dawn. Click on Niambi’s book trailer below to get a taste of From Dusk to Dawn…and then hop on over to amazon.com to pre-order a copy of her book. While From Dusk to Dawn is a romance novel, don’t let that dissuage you. Davis touchs on many universal contemporary issues and From Dusk to Dawn is a thought-provoking and mature storyline which includes several real-life themes that can negatively impact a long-term relationship. Themes include older woman, younger man relationships; interfaith challenges (he’s Muslim and she most definitely is not); disgruntled family members (his father is opposed to the relationship; after 20 years of having all his mother’s affection her only child is shocked and appalled – he’s not used to sharing and the idea of his mother in an intimate relationship is too much for his manchild brain.); last but not least is late in life motherhood(Will she? Can she? How does this issue impact their relationship?) Challenged by this many issues, it’s hard to see how any relationship can survive. So check out the trailer and then let your fingers do the walking and order a copy today. You won’t be disappointed.

    Yasmin,
Thanks for including my debut novel, AFTER THE DANCE, among those currently on your nightstand. Your nightstand, by the way, looks a lot like mine (smile).
