I noticed Holly Lisle’s site years ago when it was housed on sff.net. I love science fiction and fantasy. I’d read Holly Lisle’s first book, Fire in the Mist, and it simply blew me away, a fantasy set in an alternate universe about a woman with an uncanny power.
Her site was even more amazing, chocked full of advice for writers, essays and personal stories and revelations. She was forthright and fearless, holding nothing back. When I’m discouraged about projects to help others failing, sometimes spectacularly, or read cutting remarks about how I should hold back, bite my tongue, look out for number one and be more reserved and cautious, I think about Holly and trudge on forward, trying again.
