I find now that I’ve become an author I’ve turned into a very critical reader. It’s actually harder for me to enjoy books these days because I constantly find errors or get annoyed with the direction the writer has taken the plot. I was explaining this to a friend of mine and she said to me it’s because I’m stuck up and I only like my own stuff. I had to correct her and explain that was so not the case. In fact, I have list of things I’ve done in stories that, if I had the opportunity to rewrite them, I would. I’m far from perfect and here are four things in stories that bug me even though I must admit I’ve done them as well.
Book A Day Giveaway.
This month on my yahoo group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lenamatthews/, I hosted a Book A Day Giveaway contest. For every day I, or a participating author, hosted a contest on my yahoo group, rewarding a book (or sometimes several books) to the readers who participated.
It was only last month I was posting about hitting the wall, writing style. Flash forward four weeks and I’m posting about the story that seems as if it will never end. Can’t write. Can’t stop writing.
